Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can be a fantastic source of extra damage, more AD or even more affixes.
In most cases, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade equipment due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on armor and weapon items. They boost the stats of whatever item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items that have upgrade components in them using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. A piece of armor upgraded to its highest upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it must be more heavy.

There are several types of armor upgrades available in the game, and they all have different effects. For instance, certain upgrades give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item can receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.
A few upgrades are magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is shown by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require a charge to use, which is shown by an "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades change daily or never expire, according to the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest option to improve your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive, but can be found at the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied on high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant boost to stats and are a worthwhile cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
The process of upgrading an armor piece to max upgrade level will greatly increase its defense values however, the user must be aware that increasing its weight will drastically reduce its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The defensive boost gained generally isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain weapons also come with upgrades that improve their innate qualities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces weapon overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity to cause more damage) are two examples.
Most weapon upgrades require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade to apply. item upgrades are obtained through either completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of monsters or bosses or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of Bars. The more bars you need to complete an upgrade the more advanced the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would reset.
It's still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. It is better to purchase gear with low upgrade levels and high base scores and stat distributions. These will have a better chance of bringing you the highest tier benefits and blessings.
Most players will want to prioritize upgrades to the weapons they are most likely to use to make sure they are able to level up faster. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their squadmates use to make them stronger. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more effective when used in conjunction with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to increase the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects on weapons and armor. They can be made through the process of jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem with several reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the level of the jewel has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can boost the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts can vary depending on the level the jewel is at when it's inserted into jewelry, weapons, or gear.
All tiers of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a certain level to be able to get them. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without damaging the original. However it is only possible to replace one jewel in a piece of equipment once.
It is typical to use more gems for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the jewels create an outer layer that is more durable than metal, so repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your shields and weapons. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be freely traded, but they're not guaranteed to show up as loot. item upgrade , like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs are also removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis and traits, aren't swappable and can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets can be used to provide your hero with many small, but valuable advantages. They can be acquired starting in the areas of starting as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through completing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket that a player can unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but valuable boost in movement speed and evasion. After that, they'll be able to get amulets, rings, and necklaces in a similar fashion to how the player obtains weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.
These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't fighting. This enables the hero to perform better when they are not active and may also help make up for a lack of a solid team or any talent tree slots that would normally be filled with the hero's best statistics.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is particularly true if an item has multiple stats that you wish to upgrade, as it's often better to upgrade a single crucial stat than two subpar ones.
At the beginning of the game, players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their trinket into a red one, while top and middle players will usually opt for a green or pink ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
Aside from the items mentioned above, players can discover a variety of other trinkets in the game in the form of trophies and awards. They can be obtained through completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, completing a chapter’s main quest or defeating an opponent. You can view them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
